Recipe | The Hummingbird Bakery's Chocolate Brownie

I haven't made brownies in a long time and have been wanting to make them for a couple of days now.  So last week, on Sunday, I decided that since I was having a cosy day at home just relaxing, why not bake!  Whilst searching for a recipe I came across The Hummingbird Bakery Brownies recipe and remembered how chocolatey and gooey their brownies were when I went last year.  You can see all my pictures of the Hummingbird Bakery here.  I decided to give this recipe a go and I'm glad I did because they were chewy, chocolatey and very gooey indeed.  Just what you want in a brownie.

Mini Book Haul

I've never done a haul type post before but have always wanted to, so here's my first one.  Last week I popped into my local Waterstones store and although it is pretty small I managed to pick up a book that I've wanted ever since Essie Button mentioned it in her September Beauty Favourites video.

My Zara Wishlist

I'm sure by now you all know how much I love shopping in Zara.  As much as I love shopping and trying on before I buy, unfortunately this time when I popped into Zara it just wasn't happening.  I'd been walking for hours, I was tired, it was boiling hot and there were just too many people in the store.  So I decided to walk out and promised myself that I would check out what's new online instead.  And I wasn't disappointed.  I've picked out a few things that I absolutely love and here they are.

Do You Like Surprises?

As you know from this post that I have been working on launching our first ever subscription box.  I've spent many hours and plenty of late nights putting together The Box.  I never anticipated the amount of work that would be involved in collecting all my ideas together and bringing my vision to life.  Every part of The Box has been designed by me down to the hand printed wrapping paper too.  I'm happy to say that after all the long hours of hard work I finally did it.

100 Random Questions

I don't know about you but I love reading Q&A type posts because you get to know the blogger a bit better and also they're not so serious either.  I'm always curious to see what everyone elses answers are.  So I thought it would be fun to do a Q&A type post for today.  I searched online and found 100 random questions from all over the place and here they are.  I hope you enjoy reading my answers, let me know what you think.

Trekking up The Atlas Mountains in Marrakech

I'm not a walking type of person, I'm more of a car person.  Sounds like I'm just lazy, but to be honest with you I think it's just a habit now.  I take the easy way and use the car instead, even though, when I do walk I feel really good.  It makes me feel a whole lot better about myself and a lot healthier too.  If only I did it more often.

Now that you know I don't really walk as much as I should, it may come as a surprise when I tell you I trekked up the Atlas Mountains when I went on holiday to Marrakech.  Walking up a mountain is something I would never do in a million years here at home.  But going on holiday makes you want to do things you normally wouldn't do.  I'm not going to blame it on the heat.  But I do think it has something to do with being away from home in a totally new and completely different environment.  You feel like learning new things and having new experiences, and I certainly don't want to miss out when I'm away.  I never like to come back and feel like I missed an opportunity I may never get again.

Recipe | Key Lime Pie

So, the other day I was looking through my pictures of all the things that I've baked and came across my yummy key lime pie.  I haven't made this in a while, and remembered that when I first made it how easy it was and how refreshing it tasted too.  It's definitely something I don't usually make but I'm glad I did.  Made me realise it's ok to step out of my comfort zone from time to time.  And so I thought I would share my recipe with you too.  The great thing about this recipe is that you can make it the night before and finish off the next day.  I've found that it tastes even better a day or too later, which is always great IF you have some left over.

10 Things Every Blog Should Have

So for todays post I thought I would share with you what I think every blog should have.  You may or may not agree with me on these things and that's totally fine.  But in my opinion the things I have listed below are very important as it just makes reading a blog and finding out about the person behind the blog a whole lot easier.  You're less likely to be going back and forth and to be honest with you, I think that sometimes not being up to date with the essentials, so to speak, can put people off.  Something I'm pretty sure no blogger wants.

So here they are:

My Top 5 Graphic Tees

Sometimes a simple white tee just won't cut it and that's where a graphic tee comes in.  There are plenty of ways to style a graphic t-shirt, of course, the most obvious one being the jeans and t-shirt combo.

But in my opinion a graphic tee can also be worn with a skirt or even a suit!  It all depends on how you style it and the kind of look you're going for.  You don't have to keep it casual!  Wear it tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt or with a tulle skirt and a leather jacket.

So next time you wear a graphic tee why not try something a little different?  Here are my top 5 picks.
